The Blackwood kitchen.

This was a very special project, the client wanted to use Blackwood from their family farm in Gippsland.

I went to the farm, picked up slabs of Blackwood sent them to kiln for 3 weeks to be dried properly, then the process began.
Cutting them to thin veneers, veneering countless sheets of hoop-pine plywood to create all the doors and drawers fronts. All the kitchen interior is made out of hoop-pine plywood from Queensland plantations.
All finished with hardwax-oil.

This was a project of sentimental significance and sustainability.

We are moving! Goodbye Melbourne, hello Byron Bay!

It will take some time to set up a workshop, but if you have any friends or family up in that area let them know!

I will be working in a broader area maybe even up to Brisbane.

Wall-mounted unit with 7 matching shelves. The left side features a soft curve to ease entry into the room, with continuous grain running the full length for a clean, cohesive look.

The biggest library I made to date.

Complete with over 80 metre of shelving space, window seat cabinets and the piece de resistance a solid oak rolling ladder.

This was a challenge but really fun to make, had to pay careful attention what piece goes where there were a lot of them!

Really satisfying to see all the books go on, clients were ecstatic.
